Advanced Intaglio and relief printing with Clay Harmon and Matt Magruder Aug 1-3 2025

This new workshop for 2024 is aimed at printmakers who have had some experience in making intaglio prints with polymer plates.

This workshop is three days long, and we will explore methods for using polymer plates for printmaking in ways beyond the simple single-plate, single-ink techniques we teach in our introductory DTP classes.

Some of the topics we will be covering are:

• making and printing relief plates - suitable for making plates suitable for use on relief presses such as Vandercooks
• Multiple plate intaglio techniques - making duotone prints with two plates
• Printing on difficult substrates - such as plywood!
• Registration techniques
• Editioning techniques
• A la poupee printing
• Chine colle techniques
