Ready-to-build empty 20" x 30" 3/32" aluminum exposure box

In 2022, we spent some time using a CAD program and working with a fabricator to design a standard aluminum exposure enclosure. The goal of this project was to create a generously-sized lightweight aluminum box that can be used by anyone wanting to assemble their own UV-LED exposure box.

The resulting product is an empty 20” x 30” x 6” 3/32" aluminum box with a hinged front door and includes a Borg Controls countdown timer/relay that works with 120 VAC power sources. The cutouts are precision cut for a standard 120V inlet plug and low-cost 12V computer fans. What we deliver is an empty box with a relay timer to turn the box on and off.

Anyone purchasing this box will be able to assemble a working exposure unit using your own UV-LED strips and transformers made exactly to your own specifications. A shopping list of additional components needed for this unit will sent out to anyone purchasing this box.

The illuminated area in the box shown is 18x24 inches. This is just slightly larger than Euro A2 size. A finished box with all of the components weighs about 22-24 pounds and is very portable considering its size.

Demand for these boxes has been fairly robust, and we now keep a small inventory of boxes that are ready to ship within a week.

If for some reason we have a handful of sales that depletes our inventory, there can be up to a 3-4 week delivery time for these boxes while a new batch of the aluminum components is fabricated.

Shipping costs for this product are higher than normal because we have to pack them with extra care to ensure that they arrive in good condition. This involves lots of padding and thin plywood protector sheets inside the box.
