Taught by Matt Magruder
Over the course of this two-day workshop you will produce 1-2 finished tintypes and a complete a photo case to house the images. On day one of the workshop you will work hands-on with the chemicals and equipment to create a Wet Plate Collodion Ruby Ambrotype (Red Glass) photograph. We will use 4x5 and 5x7 cameras. Familiarity with Large Format photography is advantageous, but not a must. This process is chemistry and darkroom dependent so we will mainly focus on photographing still life or keepsakes. We also have the option to do a self-portrait as well.
On the second day we will create a small folio case out of bookbinding board and cloth that can house and display the Ambrotypes.
